I have a sub-domain, and would like to set-up my website with a username and login, so that they can access e-mails from it.

The website is a hockey simulation league, and I want to have each participant to have an e-mail address. Which can and will only be used to talk back and forth with other GMs.. Now I know i can use pegasus mail as a server .. but how can i allow them to access everything thru the website?

what steps would need to be taken? or if you have a link that would be great aswell.

thanks

I think you mean Mercury/32 as a mail server.

Anyway, you need to get a webmail script if you want people to access their email via the server.
Here's one I found: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ilohamail/

Doesn't mention requiring Unix anywhere in the install docs, however it does assume you are using Apache. Always a bad sign...

ok. After I get the mail server which i have and Im running mercury/32, how do i setup each user with a name and password and e-mail address?

This is the part i cant seem to figure out or find any resources on. Because Mercury will send e-mails out right? and the webmail script will allow users to access the e-mail address's that i want to setup on my home PC.

- HOW do i setup these e-mail addresses without having to pay a hosting company to do it on there sites.

- is it possible to do this for free?

thanks

Yes, all possible.

Configuration>Local users. You add a user, and it will be configured with username@yourdomain.com (the domain your specified in the Configuration>Mercury Core Module>Domains).
