Well I know of a site I use for Dynamic IP service. If you sign up and download the software. It comes with a mail server but it is a trail. It comes with a lot of useful stuff.

andyshen,

Search for "mail server" in this forum and you'll get a lot of information about the topic.

i've been using 602 lansuite pro...its free for up to five users and since im using it just for the webpage sending from me@scriptease.hopto.org it works nicely.
it features pop3,smtp, secure server, as well as webmail interface...

http://www.software602.com/

it may seem like overkill having all the features but it uses less resources than most mail servers I used

you should be able to use localhost as your mail server for both smtp and pop3

All you need to make SMTP work is some info from your ISP:

1. address of your SMTP server
2. your username on that server (your email address)
3. your password on that server (your email password)

Go over to your ISP's web page, and do a search for your email settings. Get the settings for POP (incoming mail) and SMTP (outgoing mail). He probably won't know what YOUR settings are. It depends on what ISP you use.

Sure, if you have a Webmail program installed on your PC, or if your mail program has remote administration capabilities.
