ok well to be honest with you. your wasting page space with the "choose your poison picture" maybe try to add more content and work on making your images web ready "ie: Small image sizes for fast loading , and yet balancing it so you dont loose quality" also i suggest using a good graphics program aimed at webdesign, such as Adobe Photoshop 7 , Gimp , Jask Paint Shop pro. also i am assuming you are quite new to webdesign so i dont expect the best from you just kind suggestions and tips for you to follow. anyways i am giving you a 5.8/10 for effort :D good luck in the future.

i do have small images...they are thumbnails...but you click to make them bigger...yes it is my first real webpage....just playin around with html and the server and stuff |

The images aren't really the problem; it is the internet connection.
It looks more like a blog to me. Also, a lot of the text isn't readable due to the background.
If you want to use a image editing program aimed more at web design, Adobe Photoshop is not the way to go; nor is The Gimp. Macromedia Fireworks is an image editor made for designing images and content for websites; if you feel up to it.
Maybe you should experiment more with website templates, and see what common styles and designs are.
Good luck.
EDIT: Don't put borders around your images; especially when you leave them the default color.
