How Many Images On A Page

Some of you have told me that I have sliced up my page graphics into to many pieces. I thought that if you did it that way instead of having 3 or 4 big images, that page will load faster and better.

So my question is, how many slices are to many?

I'd say more then 6 are too many, and it seems that with so many sliced images (No matter the size) they all take time to load, and some of them might not load as fast as others..making the layout look funked.

Personally, i try for 2 or 3 slices, if even.

Make enough slices to be applied on your site, but not too much to make the file download overhead slow the load down. Try to repeat slice images in your site to speed up the load.
