xxx.dyndns.org is a domain name, not an IP address. You need to give a lot more information about your connection before anyone can help. Are you on a LAN? Behind a router? etc etc.

If you're on a LAN you don't control eg. university network etc then the IP you see from IPConfig is probably a private IP that you can't use for serving from anyway...

You cant make a dynamic IP a static Ip but you can make yourself appear to be static if you use the dyndns service.

You need an updater to track your IP address changes and periodically update your on-line IP, this does two things, keeps your IP updated in your chosen domain name and 'Touches' the account to keep it active.

The dyndns offer two accounts types, a dynamic/static account and a webhop account... To set up you need to have one of the dynamic or static accounts and in a web hop account you put the dynamic or static dns name you chose and you use the webhop account to give out to your friends.

The beauty of using this combo is that you can on the settings in the webhop account add the portnumber you wish to restrict service to so that the accouint cant be probed by someone simply adding a port number as it already has a portnumber associated with it, it will return an error.

The whole setup is really easy to make, all you need to know is if your IP address is static or dynamic.
