Okay, here's my problem. I moved my modem upstairs to the new computer, got a wireless router and have my web server PC linked via wireless card. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to configure it to work. I'm not even sure how to access settings on the router itself! Help meeee~ o_o;.

My setup is as follows-

Server PC-
Windows 98
server port 80
wireless-b PCI adapter

Main PC-
Windows XP
normal ethernet card, connected to wireless router

So, any suggestions? Any help would be dearly appreciated... if there are any other details you may need, feel free to request them. Thanks.

(Also, please put suggestions in understandable terms... I'm kind of an idiot about networks and such. Sorry.)

Read the manual that you got with the router box.

I found out how to configure the router, and tried to give my site server a static IP. How can I tell if that ip is working? I can't access it at all... does Abyss need some special settings or the like? I still have the ip up at 80.

You cannot test your external IP from your computer. You should do this test from another computer.
You should contact your ISP about the static IP. Abyss cannot configure or set your IP for you since it is something related to your ISP.
If your IP is dynamical, you can subscribe for a dynamic DNS service (some are free, some aren't). We suggest reading http://www.dyndns.org and
http://directory.google.com/Top/Computers/Software/Internet/Servers/Address_Management/Dynamic_DNS_Services/?tc=1 .

Alright, I've learned to configure the router all I need to... I used DCHP and gave the computers static IPs ending 101 and 100. Dork, the webhost compy, has 101.

All UPnP forwards are directed to 101, but I still can't even access the site on local host address. I can get the console, but that's all...

I can try as many different configs as work =\ help...

Cecilliashrew,

Can't you access the site when browsing http://127.0.0.1:port/ from the computer Abyss runs on (where port is the port Abyss is configured to use)?

Nope =\ that's why I'm so frustrated.

I use a Linksys router and have configured all the UPnP settings save Telnet to the right ip my computer has (ending in 101), and still no dice. I will try reinstalling the program to see if that helps anything, but if not, any programs you might reccommend to rectify the matter? I just want my website back up...

Reinstalling it seems to have helped... maybe it had some archaic settings that it didn't want to update?...

Sorry for being such a pain in the arse ^-^;.... all help you've offered has been appreciated!
