alright I am running a site using e107 http://chitmusic.com but I cant get it to send mail like when some one joins or requests a new password they dont get a email. So i opened up my php.ini file and set-up the smtp server I use hotpop. Am i doing something wrong. |

Hey,
I'm also running e107 and I used to have alot of probs with my hotpop account not sending.
Try changing your smtp to your ISP setting and see if it works. |

ISP setting? I dont think my ISP is running a smtp server if thats what you mean |

Your ISP didn't give you an email account with smtp outgoing mail? |

no they didnt. they only gave me one if i ordered a dial up account but since i am hosting my won web site i need T1 |

You could just run a program like Argosoft mail server and disable the web feature and use your own smtp, thats how I'm doing it right now...
I've found that almost every isp does not allow relaying and thats what you need.
