SPDY and WebSockets are planned for the next major version. That version has been planned with major architectural changes and these new protocols would fit in very nicely.
But the majour problem with WebSockets is that it won't be compatible with the traditionnal Web application standards (such as CGI/FastCGI.) Applications has to be rewritten and older code won't be able to take advnatage of it. _________________ Support Team

that is excellent news. I look forward to it. I'm happy to offer whatever testing i can afford (timewise) to do.
I'm comfortable with writing socket code (C/C++), its just beyond my current (time) resources to figure out the protocol details. |

This thread is from 2013, it's now 4 years later.
One of our new web applications, that streams live data, requires that we use a web server that supports web sockets. Can we expect a version of Aprelium that supports this in the foreseeable future?
Kind regards,

This has just become a problem for me, when I installed a Mastodon server on a Linux box behind Abyss.
So yeah, I'm hopeful for a solution too. |
