If anyone has linux ( I dont care what kind) can you take screen shots of your desk top and post them here or send to buffyxnet@aol.com? I want to see what the OS looks like. Also pictures of Abyss wouldn;t hurt. Make sure you Zip them if you send it to me(if you can).

If you are looking for screenshots, a great place to start would be a distro's website.

RedHat: http://www.redhat.com
Mandrake: http://www.mandrakelinux.com
Lycoris: http://www.lycoris.com
SuSe: http://www.suse.com

Most have screenshots send in by users to show their special interfaces. Look around and you shall receive.

Screenshot of console?

"root@detdu abyssws # ./abyssws
Abyss Web Server X1 Update 2 (v 1.1.6)
Copyright (C) Aprelium Technologies - 2001-2003

Press Ctrl+C to stop the server

Configureation file : /detborde/stå/någothär/abyss.conf

Server Port: 80 - Console Port: 9999
Web server local URL: http://127.0.0.1/
Console local URL: http://127.0.0.1:9999"

Whats all, using putty to and WinSCP to transfer files and update things...
So no screenshots here. No need for X on a server. Everything else "the admin interface" works as in windows, becouse im using it in windows.

Normal, but the "desktop" folder might take awhile to open depnding on how many icons you have on your desktop. www.astonshell.com You can get a lot of differnt desktop shells, and they are all pretty cool looking.

If you are going to use the linux box as a server it's no idé installing X, becouse it's just takes cpu. If you want to see how cool linux can lock go to http://themes.freshmeat.net/

nice place to get themes, I'm using fluxbox right now so there isn't much to see...
