i try to play DOD but i get tremendous lag (im on cable) up too 1150 ping....and i dont know why

doesnt happen on the followed:
AAO = americas army ops
CS = counter strike xD
TFC = team fortress classic
OF = opposing force
D2 = diablo 2
BF 1942 = battlefield 1942
or TFD = task force dagger
