| Ever since I installed the software my bandwidth moniter reports an almost constant download rate of 2.4 Kb/s , this is whether or not I have traffic. Anyone care to explain? |

Could be general LAN traffic eg name resolution, netbios etc.
Install a decent personal firewall that shows you what processes are receiving traffic and find out :)

Rev_Chris,
All the requests that reach Abyss Web Server are logged in the file log/access.log. Check it to see if Abyss is answering to requests from the outside.
