I download a script for listing the files in my download direction and everything worked fine. A little to well...
I was able to browse my ?admindownload? folder that I've password protected in abyss.
Why doesn?t abyss protection work? If I try to access the folder in any other way I have to type in a password but not using AutoIndex.
Can someone tell my how to do so that abyss asks for password when using AutoIndex?

AutoIndex and Password protection does not interfere and can work together. The problem may come from a bad password protection configuration. Please send us your abyss.conf file to support@aprelium.com and tell us what path you wanted to protect. _________________ Support Team

the 'problem' comes from when autoindex is located outside the password protected directory and it is called to list the protected dir, it will list it without problems (bypassing the server settings), but no1 would be able to download files that are actually there. (at least that is my experience)
example: http://someserver.org/autoindex.php?dir=docs/protected/ |

We thought you was talking about Abyss automatic directory listing (sometimes called autoindex). The problem you describe comes from the script you use that lists the contents of the directory and bypasses our server's protections. In such a case, it is up to you to put that script somewhere where protections are also effective. _________________ Support Team
