I read from the PHP installation note and found:
Quote:

Press Add in the Custom Environment Variables table.

Enter REDIRECT_STATUS (with no leading or trailing spaces) in the Name field and 200 in the Value field and press OK.

I also read from PHP.ini file on the directive cgi.nph:
Quote:

; if cgi.nph is enabled it will force cgi to always sent Status: 200 with
; every request. PHP's default behavior is to disable this feature.
;cgi.nph = 1

Can anyone please tell me, are these two directives functioning the same?
Can I just set up one and ignore the other?

I don't do either of them, not in my Abyss configuration, nor my PHP config, and everything seems to work a-ok for me.

I think it stopped being necessary a few PHP releases ago.

The instructions in http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/php.html are generic and target any PHP version. That's why we kept this instruction about REDIRECT_STATUS.

REDIRECT_STATUS used to be necessary but this is no more the case. Adding it does not have any effect on modern PHP releases. You can note that in http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/php5win.html we don't cite it.
