Thats my problem. Its a Dell Dimension 2400.
I tried:
Winsock
New network cable
New NIC card
Removing my router (Straight connection. Modem <----> PC)
Turned all firewalls off
Calling my ISP, everything
My actual connection is fine, as my other two PC's are connected. Wireless and Wired.
The computer will connect once and awhile for about 15 minutes, and then that will be all, it will stop receiving packets. I'll reboot but still the same problem.
I'll answer any questions to try and find the solution to this problem. As well as try anything!
Someone please help! |

Is the problem computer connected wired or wirelessly?
Perhaps a virus is doing this??? My catch-all solution is to reinstall Windows, especially since you went through so many trial and error possibilities already. Reinstalling Windows gets rid of nearly any virus that's been made.
If you're still stuck, download a LiveCD of a Linux distribution with Firefox on it. See if you still have the problem in Linux. _________________ Stephen

Its wired.
I also already tried installing windows.
However it is possible, it was my ISP. I took the computer to a buddies house, and it worked.
(Kind of, but thats a new thread) |
