I think it is your gateway by enter your IP. That IP I believe was give to by your ISP. Is that a Static or Dynamic IP? I assume it is Dynamic since it is set on Dynamic mode. I also verify by going there with that IP and I can not access so that confirm to me is Dynamic but check any to make sure.

Try entering 127.0.0.1 from your URL browser and see if your webpage show up. Assuming you have install Abyss already and also have index.htm in the HTDOCS folder.

Is that the only PC or multiply PC that are attach to your Gateway? What OS are you using? Can you tell me more about your network setup? Or anything that may help? Like is your Gateway setup as NAT or something?

Cool... Ok. Possible problem:
1. Multipy PC from network.
- Find out what your LAN IP where you Abyss is sitting.
- Use IPCONFIG /ALL (Win2K/XP/NT) or winIPCFG (Win98/ME) select TCP/IP

2. Incorrect LAN IP
- Forward PORT 8080 to your LAN IP of Abyss

3. Gateway have not idea where to send inbound
- See above 3

NAT will assign a LAN IP of your internal network for all your multi-PC. It should similar like this >> 192.168.1.100.... 101... 102... etc.... So, if your Abyss is siting in 192.168.1.101 you will need to open and assign port forwarding from your gateway for PORT 8080 to 192.168.1.101.

OK, umm........ I figured ( or so I thought ) that my LAN IP is 192.168.0.3 ( According to the picture below - if I am correct ) So now, how do I "open" it??! And how to assign "assign port forwarding from your gateway for PORT 8080 to 192.168.1.101 ( Well, that should be 192.168.0.3 , I assume )"???!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING YOUR TIME AND HELPING ME OUT, YOU'VE HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THAT MEANS TO ME!! THANKS!!

suki

P.S. BTW, can hackers hack into your harddrive by using your IP Address??!! ( 'Cuz they're really smart, and I know that'a dumb question, haha!! )

And in the above picture, it says "IP Router Enable - NO", does it mean SOMETHING??! ( I'm not having a very good feeling about that! )

Thank you!

I think that means "IP Router Enable " , you don't have a router hooked up for multiple internet connections :D

Your using AT&T Broadband Internet so I am assuming that you are most likley on a cable modem. Yout IP is NOT 192.162.0.3. That is an IP that is assigned to your computer by the LAN that you have setup in you house. I get the impression that you did not set it up but someone else in your family did. Is this correct? What we mean by an OS is an Operation System (ie what version of Windows are you running :)). The main problem that is preventing the outside world from accessing you site is that 1. in the URL that you poseted (http://12.238.214.111) you did not tell us the port to connect on. To do this you need to specify the port number such as http://12.238.214.111:8080. By placing a : after the IP you tell the browser to look for you website on port 8080 and not port 8o which is the default for most sites. 2. You need to tell your broadband gateway to forward requests from the outside world that connect to port 8080 on the gatewayy to send those requests on to the ip for your computer inside your LAN. In this case your internal IP is http://12.238.214.111 on port 8080 192.168.0.3. To figure out how to do this you need to find documention from what ever company produces Broadband IP Gatewayy ver 6.00. This is what I assume from your screenshots that you are using for internet connection sharing in your home. I have never heard of it and I was not able to locate their website on Google. If you did not setup your homenetwork I would suggest that you ask who ever did to assist you. I don't know if I have helped you any or mearly confused you (I hope I have helped). Anywa ys good luck with your site and if you need more help please feel ferr to psot here. :)

Ok, now we know something or somewhat about your LAN.
Since your Abyss PC is on 192.168.0.103

So now look everywhere for something or similar indication of Port Forwarding and assign 8080. Also assign 8080 port to 192.168.0.103 (asuming Abyss still on this LAN IP). If it move to other location, try using IPCINFIG /all again to see where it on now.

Can you check your gateway option menu "advance setup" and see what it have there. Can you give us a screen shot? Hiding anything that seem important from public view.

Summary:
Find the option for Port Forwarding 8080 to your LAN IP 192.168.0.103. That should be it.

*sigh* My brother got us a new router, I think. At least it's different, and I think it's a router!

I'm having NO problem accessing my http://localhost:8080/ and http://127.0.0.1:8080/ Yet, I'm still suffering from not being able to access w/my external IP: http://12.238.242.70:8080/ Well, I doubt you'd either, since he'll be turning it off shortly, since he doesn't want any "intruder". I'm desperate!! I see my website JUST FINE, when I accessing my localhost. Oh, and BTW, I DID asked him to forward my port to 8080...... yet, still fail!!! HELP PLEASE!! >.<

THANK YOU! :(

My next question will be.... Does your ISP allow any hosting? They may block any type of hosting on your side. If you have nothing that are preventing from coming in (firewall, Proxy, in/outbound filter .. etc). Then I do not see any reason why your public IP can not be access to your LAN. Do you have a Dynamic Public IP? If so, you may need to check what the current IP you are using and see if that is the cause.
