Whilst I have used Abyss for nearly two years now, all it has done is host 6 sites in a simple configuration. Now I want to set-up something else and I don't know if it can work this way.

Background
1 PC running Abyss with 6 hosted sites. All HTTP requests directed by router to this PC.
1 PC running Windows Home Server. This allows me to log-on to the network and various PCs within it and it's own simple website. It really should have HTTP and HTTPS directed to it. I have only directed HTTPS to it due to web-server setup.

Requirement
To be able to connect to WHS PC using HTTP.

Possible Solutions
I could install another simple PC as a reverse proxy server. Bit OTT I feel.
So could I set-up Abyss to redirect calls to the URL xxx.homeserver.com to the WHS PC? If so then how would I do it?

Any guidence would be appreciated.

Simon

The only way to do this that I know of is to run WHS on another port. Keep Abyss on port 80 for the six websites and run WHS on, say, port 100.

As for https, it has a default port of 443. So you'd set up port 100 and 443 to go to the WHS while port 80 is still directed to the Abyss PC.

dancingbear,

Did you come up with a solution for this? I have a WHS too and have a similar situation. Thanks.
