Recently a forum I host was spammed, and the culprit used a PEAR/PHP script of sorts to do the job. The logs show the client as:

PEAR HTTP_Request class ( http://pear.php.net/ )

I'd like to block them from doing it again by simply ignoring requests from this client. It's a short-term solution, no doubt they'll just change it, but I can't immediately see an answer to the question: Can I block by client?

Any suggestions?

You could do a redirect to an error based on that.

Maybe this would work (in URL rewriting):
