Installed the Abyss Web Server and have mySQL running via XAMPP which was working fine, tested with the normal test page, worked ok internally and externally, installed php via the instructions on this website. I have changed the interface to cgi/isapi and still no good. i have uploaded wordpress into the htdocs folder now which is what i'm using to test php (i want to use wordpress on this site) i get to the first install page, but as soon as i enter a blog name and admin email and click install, it errors...

Any ideas?

I installed the preconfigured PHP 5.2.2 and have Abyss Web Server v2.5

Create a test file (test.php or similar) and put it into your root directory (htdocs).

Place this code into that file:
Code:
<? phpinfo(); ?>

Open the file on your browser...If this shows PHP stats, the issue isn't with the PHP/Abyss CGI, it may be a configuration issue with wordpress.

Hi Toasty, did that, but no luck, still get the same error.

EDIT: I'm thinking of changing to a CentOS 5.2 OS and just use apache there... as it already has PHP it shouldn't be an issue... What do you think?

Personally, I think Abyss is a great product, once this PHP hurdle you're on passes, I think you'd feel the same way...

Because you're using 5.2.2, make sure your CGI style is set to "PHP Style"

You may also consider sending your abyss.conf file (located in your Abyss Install Directory) to priority@aprelium.com

They usually will get back to you within 24 hours. Explain the issue you're having in the E-Mail, and/or link them to this topic.

Since that code I gave you didn't work, I'm assuming it's a PHP configuration issue in the server set-up (your console).

Any other questions, feel free to post and I'll try to help where I can. Good Luck.

He may not be an X2 customer.

Aprelium would probably prefer that you send/ask things to support@aprelium.com.
