I've followed all the instructions for installing php, but when I test it, I get the 404 file not found error. The file is definitely in the right place in the htdocs folder.

I think the problem is that I had been using sokkit, and localhost is looking for the file in the sokkit directory, and I don't know how to tell it to look elsewhere. I can't delete the directory - I keep getting popups saying that
various files are in use.

Any ideas on how to delete the old sokkit directory, and tell localhost to look in the new directory?

Thanks.

Robert

I had tried add and remove. Clearly, it didn't remove as much as I would have liked.:-)

Thank you for the suggestion of going into the processes window. I found
Apache.exe running, and killed it. That enabled me to delete all of the sokkit stuff, and now I can load the test.php page.

Glad you fixed your problem. Apache usually runs on the same port as Abyss (80, the default port for web servers). A port cannot be shared.
