I would like to set up a loggin and registration feature for my website... can anyone reccomend a website or any source of information to help me do this??
basically I want to have a system that you can loggin and have a profile, like boxes to input information about yourself...
age
CENSORED
history...
and then have another section where it lists the registered people and shows a link to their "profile"
I would also want people to be able to change the information after they hav registered, by logging in and being shown the same pannel they got when registering (only they cant change their original name)
any information on this would help a lot, im newbie to webmastery and Im not sure where to start.
Thanks!!! |

Try script directories like http://www.resouceindex.com or http://www.hotscripts.com and look for "date OR dating" scripts... Maybe you can manipulate one to do exactly as you wish...
You can also search for profile OR intranet OR workgroup... These are the types of scripts which help you collect profiles and extend on it. Good luck :) _________________ Victor B. Gonzalez

alright, I think I found what im looking for... but i cant install it...
Quote: | 1.) Unpack newsmanager and upload it to your web server.
2.) Set permissions to 777 (Read + Write + Execute) for these folders:
gfx/partners
gfx/smileys
gfx/news
gfx/gallery
topic
and set permissions to 666 (Read + Write) for these files:
db.inc.php
3.) point your browser to http://yourdomain.com/path_to_newman/install.php
a.) fill form with your MySQL information and click submit button
b.) go through the input box and check for the name of tables and paths to smileys, partners and topic folders. You should also write username, password for administrator to logon the script. After that click OK
c.) You will get final output if everything is OK, when it is you can remove install.php from server and setup permission to 644 for db.inc.php file
4.) If you want to use a another color scheme and your own logo change file called "colors.php3"
5.) Now you can point your browser to:
http://yourdomain.com/path_of_news_manager
6.) Login with username and password you setup durign installation: |
how do i set permissions???
ahh!??!!? |

If your running windows, then you shouldn't have to if I remember rightly. Just place the needed files (and correct directory structure) into the htdocs in abyss installation directory. |
