well unless you want to do a TON of coding, the easiest way to have a website with having user accounts across a whole website is to install a CMS like e107, DotNetNuke (I dont thik it works in abyss, but haven't tried), Joomla!, or PHP-Nuke.
I have used all of these, and I have to say the easiest one would probably be e107 but if you want to go with more options and more stuff you can find for premade scripts and plugins go with PHP-Nuke, but as far as forum integration, all of these do either integrate with another forum software or have their own built in.
all require mysql (I think dotnetnuke requires it...I have never ran a server for it just administered a site) and all but dotnetnuke require php. dotnetnuke run on ASP.NET. _________________

In order to use the template with a CMS you'll have to actually go out of your way to add all the bits and pieces of code into the template to make it work with the CMS.
Coding a user registration / login system requires time and knowledge of a scripting language, as well as database security. Unless you have a particular reason to want one, I'd say it's best just to leave your website as plain, static HTML pages. Same thing with forums, even... they're useless unless you expect to have some traffic. |

Don't discourage people! Just kidding...yeah its pretty complicated. I'm in the middle of writing my own CMS right now, but its been a great experience. :) _________________ -Blake | New Server :D

Its not a law that you have to make your own CMS, I simply did it as a learning experience. I think I will go on to improve it for a long time though. _________________ -Blake | New Server :D

It's difficult as others said but it's not impossible. There are many tutorials explaining how to start writing such a system. A list of such articles is in http://www.cgi-fan.com/PHP/Tips_and_Tutorials/User_Authentication/ . _________________ Support Team

If anyone's interested, I will probably launch a website and release the first version of my CMS soon. It's file-based (no database), and uses an XML file for the users. I've attempted to make it pretty secure too, passwords are hashed and stored in an XML file saved with a php ending with the first thing in the file being exit(). I thought I would see how well I could make one without using a database. :) _________________ -Blake | New Server :D
