Hello,

I'm getting 500 errors on a CGI program when the resulting output is larger than around 15k. Very strange, when the resulting output (the CGI program, written in Clipper/DOS simply writes to stdout) is a "small" HTML file of 10k there's no problem, when the output gets larger, the remainder is ignored.

Could this be a buffering problem or so? this error does not occur when using localhost or on the network, but only when using the external router which is not very fast.

Thanks in advance for a reply.

Pepijn Smits.

Are you using the latest update? I believe a member by the name of Kent was having 500 error problems with an older version of Abyss. Just to make sure do you have the latest update?

You can grab the latest version of Abyss here http://www.aprelium.com/news/abwsx1u1.html

Good luck :)

If it works from the localhost, that means that Abyss Web Server is not the cause. Check your router and firewall for that. Try also increasing the CGI timeout value and/or the timeout value in Server parameters. If the client takes too much time reading the server output, that last can stop the CGI program it is executing and return error 500. That applies also for CGI programs that need more than CGI timeout to run.
