I have had Aprelium Web Server X1 running successfully with PHP 5.2.8 for a long time. However, this morning it has stopped working with Firefox bizarrely.

When I try and run a PHP file, I receive a dialog box asking what the browser should do with the file.

Aprelium seems to have lost the PHP configuration, so I re-did that, but still nothing.

I have restored my system to 2 days ago (the last time that I had it running) but still not working.

Does anybody have any suggestions please?

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on a PC.

Here are the configuration setting that I have :

Seems that this problem only happens on some files, and only in combination with Firefox (v 3.5.13) .

IE8 (v.8.0.7600.16385) runs the file as I would expect. Firefox will run some other PHP files, but not all.

I also tested it on Safari - ran fine. And Google Chrome - ran fine.

swissmant,

Indeed this is a bizarre problem!

We've found a discussion in http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?forumId=1&comments_threshold=0&comments_parentId=1452&comments_offset=40&comments_per_page=20&thread_style=commentStyle_plain which deals with that exact same issue. Some recommendations are listed there (in the last reply at the bottom of the page.)

Another post in http://www.unixshell.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94 suggests that clearing Firefox cache solves the problem : in the past, the page with the wrong MIME type got into the cache and all subsequent views handed that back hence the problem.

Does it work now?

I had the same problem with firefox with a YaBB BB every so often. I simply closed the download box and clicked again and it went away.

Regards,
Axis

this has happened to me recently and doing testing, putting compression at 0 makes the problem go away which is not great :-(
