|
|
This is probably a stupid question but I'll ask anyway. Where is the correct place to store the website pages?
Does it have to be:
\program files\abyss webserver\htdocs
or can it be:
\websites\simon\
The reason for asking is I have been using the later, but I have now installed PHP5 and the tutorial says test file should be in stored in the former.
I know both work but which is the better way to store. At the moment I only have one site, but as soon as the funding is in place (well my overtime is paid) I will be changing to X2 and hosting a few sites. I would like to set-up the system with the best structure. So which way should I go?
Thanks for any advise given. |

You can change the htdocs location in the console:
Abyss Web Server Console > Configure > General
I think thats the location of it. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Thanks for the quick reply. I had changed abyss to point at the new folder, but I was wondering which location would you recommend? |

You can store the htdocs in any location you want; provided the server has read access to that location. For example I store mine in D:\Web Documents _________________ Olly |

On http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/articles/x2-hosts.html we suggest that you create a folder (for example C:/sites) where all your web sites will be located (c:/sites/myfirstdomain , c:/sites/myseconddomain, c:/sites/testsite , etc...). _________________ Support Team

Thanks. Just the info I needed to confirm I was using the correct approach. _________________ Simon Smith
