Hi,

I currently have a Netgear DG834, and my internet connection only seams to work in some of the sockets, so I have come to the conclusion, I need to buy another router to use in another room where I need a wired network. I was wondering if I set both of the AP's with the same ssid and wep protection if I will be able to use computers on one router and access things on the other one via the wireless...

Code:

E.g

Internet Connection --- Router 1 ------------------------- Wireless
                                      |                          |
                                     NAS                         |
                                                                 |
                                                            Router 2
                                                                  |
                                                   ----------------------------
                                                  |           |         |
                                                Laptop          Desktop      Print Server

So basically i want to know if Router 2 will be able to access the NAS on router 1 and the internet...

Thanks in advance

abyssisthebest,

This should work. Actually instead of router 2, you only need a Wifi Access Point which should be configured as a wireless client/bridge (just give it the SSID and the WEP password of the AP connected to router 2). Connect it with a hub/switch if it has only 1 ethernet port.

All your computers and the NAS should be configured to use the same subnet (for example 192.168.1.*) so that all your devices/computers can interoperate on your LAN with no problems and no additional configurations.
