Hey Everyone,
I made my site, http://www.stevend.tk in about 10 minutes. It is basically about myself and 3D Games/Animations i am making or have made. Also, it utilizes password protected sites for my friends use,etc.... Also, if you guys want a free domain, head on over to http://my.dot.tk and sign up for a free www.your-name.TK extension. You forward that .TK extension to your site, or in this case, your IP Address that Abyss Is Currently running on. Oh yeah, i have a question, can you put your computer in standby and still have users access your site while your computer is in standby? Because it doesnt seem to work with my computer. Tell me your thoughts on my unorganized site :) LOL!

Your left frames, change the font size / link size. Then you can make the frames smaller, so it doesnt' take up half the window... Just a suggestion... It'll create an overall better look. And I don't think you need the excess space on the top frame. Change your font sizes.
Cooleth though. Made me reemmber my RA2 Modding Days kinda...Kudos.
After some changes, it's professional! Good job. :P

BTW - As far as I know, your web-server being accessed while your computer is in standby is not possible. It MIGHT be, but it's not too logical...
Programs "Freeze" When in Standby... and I asked already. :? We can only hope... Or you could always get a new computer, update your links to the site, and run it as just a host. Which I hope I can do soon...

Not a problem. I had Yuri's Revenge, and had a mod. But my computer crashed. I haven't been motiviated to restart one since. But I did try my hand at Emperor: Battle for Dune. I have yet to play Command and Conquer: Generals. Are the modding schemes the same? I haven't been around at DeeZire Forums in a while. Ever go there? :? 8)

Hey,
Ive never been to those forums. BTW, Generals, compared to RA2 Dominates the RTS Market. Its more realistic. You should check into it :)

Hey you have a nice web site and I want you to know that leaving your PC on all the time is healthy for it , if you turn if off and on all the time then you may shorten your computers life span , leave it on !

I kept mine on for already about 3 months , still running smooth for me

I read this up on http://www.pcguide.com 8)

I found the section I was reading , I urge all of you who read this post , you should read this system care guide this web site has very important facts about taking care of your PC

If you have Abyss or any server, normally should be on 24/7 unless there a reason not to. What the point of having a server if you or anyone can not acceess it. Then the real question is, why have a server in the first place?

stevendeboer, as your site, IMO - I would suggest shrinking your left frame and topframe. Also, reduce the boarder to 0. It not really attractive to see very thick boarder frame. You can check alot of well made site that does not have boarder you can see but still can be scroll.

I almost forgot about you to reply.
Normally you should not put your PC to standby especially your HD. It will take time to spin up. Actually, any part of your PC except your Monitor should alway be "Stay On". Any part of your PC is in "Stand-By" mode, it will take time to initialize or spin up. Sometime the reinitialization may fail to complete it all the rotation and may also cause diamino effect and cause your system to Hang / Freeze. The only thing can be turn off is the monitor.

BTW, do not forget UPS to keep all your server up and running without a hic-up or spike to your PC.

Unterrupt Power Supply is a device where it will kick in when there is a power failure. It have a backup battery that do the backup. A good UPS will also protect any surge or spike that may come thruogh your electrical outlet. Majority of residential power are at most fluctuate or spike and seldom constant. This type of activity normally will not cause much harm to any sensitive device like a PC since most good PS have a fuse but if it being constantly get fluctate, it will cause curruption to your data or worse may damage your PC in someway. This just the basic but there are more reason for it. You can check out some small company that have server, you will see some UPS and few server running.

For example - When you turn on some home device like a vacuum cleaner, your TV display will flicker or shrink or cause snow. Anytime something turn on, your current in your home will fluctuate. This kind of fluctuation is not good for any sensitive equipement.

Do you get the main concept / idea?

Having your PC on constantly ok but without protection may not be too good either.

BTW, do not try using a cheapo powerstrip surge from your local hardware store or similar and or those $10USD type either. To me it just a joke. You can take a look at one of the a company make UPS www.apc.com
