8O OK...So here is the deal guys and girls!!!!
( 1 ) Downloaded And Installed Software
( 2 ) Installed Console Username And Password
( 3 ) Logged Into Console As Above?
( 4 ) Got IP Address From Aprelium: 217.39.130.126 ( Dynamic )
( 5 ) Set My Default Page: index.html
( 6 ) Set My Error Page To: http://www.webcrawler.com
( 7 ) Set Port Number To: 8000
( 8 ) Typed: http://217.39.130.126:8000/ Into Browser ( IE 6.1 ) 8)
Going By Above, I Should Access My Default Page "index.html" Via The Above Address: http://217.39.130.126:8000/
WRONG: I Get Nothing, Just Hangs On Me And Gives Me Loads Of Those God Damm Popups Windows.......Not Quit The Ticket I Feel :(
SO WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!!!!!!
Going By The Above, I Can't See Where I Am Going Wrong???...So Guys And Girls, Here Is My Setup: :?:
AMD 1.4gig
ADSL 500 Direct Connection Via USB Modem ( No Router Yet )
500mb SDRAM
40gig HD
IE Explore 6.1 ( Service Pack 1 Installed )
Direct X 9
No Int Network ( Yet ) :?
TRIED ALTURNATIVE SOFTWARE:
I Have Another Web Server Progie, Which Works Fine, But Really Want This Version, As It has Loads More Benifits. I Launch It, And It Aquires Dynamic IP Address Instantly, Which Was 217.39.130.126 When Writing This. Why Then Does This NEW Software Fail To Respond To The Index Page Located Via http://217.39.130.126:8000/index.html
If Anyone Can Shine Some Light On This...It Will Save Me Going Completely Bold..LOL

- (4) is probably OK.
- make sure you've put (5) in your "htdocs" folder under the Abyss folder
- re: (7) note that there are TWO ports you can set: unless you have a good reason to change it, leave your SERVER PORT at 80 (the default); I think you've set your CONSOLE PORT to 8000 (which should be okay), but you've also set your SERVER PORT to 8000! Make sure the two port numbers are different
- re: ( 8 ), when I go to your IP address, i get prompted for the password to login to your Abyss Console (I don't think that's what you intended!)
If you have a firewall, make sure you've allowed access to Port 80 (or whatever you're using for your SERVER PORT) through to Abyss.
Good luck! :D _________________ Gene Chan genechan@vcn.bc.ca

I have just two comments... 1. cook9159uk I think you broke the world record in regards to smilies in one post. 2. What pop ups? I never seen one pop up on the Aprelium site and if you mean in regards to your own server I would advise you check your system for spyware.
Good luck :) _________________ Victor B. Gonzalez

First can you set the Server Port and Console port to a different port. Meaning not the same port. Or set as default.
Next, check if your >> index.html << is in HTDOCS folder.
Then Check what your current Dynamic IP you are using now.
Last, try connecting it with your Browser IE6 to the current IP you are using.
Final step. Tell us what happen. Did you see your page or still have problem? Or your head become bald already except one small hair still on your head? _________________ CapFusion,... |
