Hi
I would want to have the logfile outputted to the serial port.. is this possible?
...and, if Abyss can't do this, is there any way (at the OS level or via some utility) to accomplish this task?
Btw, I don't mean something like
TYPE lofile.log > COM1
(wich works, but outputs the whole file) rather writing to the serial port each time there's a new entry in the log..
Thanks to everyone! |

I know there is no current support for this. I guess it may be possible to make a log monitoring program that outputs the line when something new occurs.

Oh, one more thing I'd like to add...
Should you be using a printer, do note that the log files grow quickly.
If you have a page with 20 images on it, a favicon, a css file, and a javascript file, you already will have 24 lines (including the document.html) printed / sent to the serial device.
Just something to think about, as each request (image, file, style-sheet, etc) is its own request. _________________ Audit the secure configuration of your server headers! |

Hi Toasty
Yes, you guessed it right :)
I know each http request generates a separate entry in the log, but I would be monitoring just a private website, so that's not an issue.
Rather, I've found plenty of software that redirects the serial port to a file, but not the opposite, despite hours of googling.
Thanks!

Daevon,
You can fill the "Log File" field with the serial port address (it must be activated of course), for example:
On Linux
On Windows
