MODx Content Management System
Joomla and Drupal are both under developed. Both Joomla and Drupal both have url rewrites and claim to have Search Engine Friendly (SEF) urls but they aren't SEF urls. e107 is nice but does not have SEF URLs. They have a plugin that claims to be SEF for URLs but prod_([0-9]+).html, cat_([0-9]+).html, and item_([0-9]+).html are not SEF URLs. All they are is simple url rewrites.
An example of a SEF URL is like contact-us.html which matches the page title and some of the text on the page. MODx provides that and they use aliasing to accomplish it. It means another field in the table of the database but that is fine and dandy considering that MODx can actually provide SEF URL with it. If MODx was to use the same url rewrite tactic as all the other CMS developers have then their URL rewrite for MODx would look something like this id_([0-9]+).html and that is not Search Engine Friendly. |
