|
|
Introduction
e107 is a webportal like POSTnuke, and PHPNuke, but has many other features. Its fun and easy
http://www.e107.org
Requirements
1.e107
2.Abyss Web Server
3.MySQL
4.WinZIP
Notes
You Won't need to edit any PHP files, you will need PHP installed and a SQL Database(read up on vbgunz posts for phpMyAdmin),
Installation
1. Download e107 off of there website
2. Create a folder in your X:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\htdocs Called e107
(X being your Drive that its on)
3. UnZIP to e107
4. Create a Database in phpMyAdmin
5. Open http://localhost/e107/install.php
6. Fill in the information and your done!
This is somewhat a rip of what vbgunz does for his tutorials, I thank him for his tutorial on MySQL and phpMyAdmin, without those I wouldn't be able to write this tutorial, I would also like to thank Aprelium for making such Abyss Web Server :), I will write another when I have time for people who want to use virutal path's for this

dont need phpmyadmin really, the latest version of e-106 creates a database during installation if you choose to.
The question is what does not work with abyss, kick ass little app. |

Super Easy. 10 min install...
Thanks for the tutoral.
Although i did have one problem with this that i easly figured out.
If you get an error and says to delete and try agian, in phpmyadmin go ahead and create the database for it. This worked for me. |

Try killing the mySQL service, and then restarting it. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

I keep getting......
e107 was unable to create all of the required database tables.
Please clear the database and rectify any problems before trying again.

During installation, when it asks you for MySQL name and password info,
make sure you select:
name: localhost
user: (your MySQL username)
pass: (your MySQL password)
Checkmark the box that says "create tables" or something like that.
If you're still having trouble, go to this site:
http://touchatou.org/e107/tuto.php
It has a flash tutorial on how to install e107. |

Slag,
Please be a little more detailed when explaining your problem.
When are you getting "page not found"? What step are you at?
What does the address bar say when you get that message? |

Sorry, It's hard to be specific when all I get is a page not found on IE7.
The install process works perfectly fine!, after it asks me to delete the install.php file, I do, then hit continue, whihc leads to a page not found and the url looks like this.
dollar.greater-than.com/install.php/install.php
And I'm trying to install it through the domain name.
But When i look at it through Firefox, it displays a message on the browser= " No input file specified. "
I'm not sure what that means, but when i go locally, on the 127.0.0.1 it shows the same thing on both EI7 and Firefox. Now I have setup to make the default file index.php... |
