I have a Dlink Di-704p and I have setup port forwarding to port 22. Do I NEED to set it to port 80 to have it work online?

What are you trying to do :?: If you set your Abyss is set to PORT 22, then it OK but if it is set to the default which is Port 80, then you will need to either change the port forwarding to 80 from your DLINK or have your Abyss listen to port 22. It really upto you.

Then all you have to do is just enter your URL or IP. No need to enter the Port like .... 123.456.789.123:22 :D

Are you clear now? Are there any cloud near you that abstructing this message from not clear enough :?:

Humm... If you have your Abyss and your router is set to the same port 22, your public IP should goto your Router > forward port 22 > Abysss where it listen to port 22...... :? Can you clear all your cache and cookies or whatever in yoru browswer. Check your public IP at that moment and at the same time, enter your IP and see if it will show up.
Do you have a Static IP or Dynamic IP from your ISP? :?:

Both are set to port 8080. My ruoter's ip never changes. I want to port forward, so that my pc, can be used to host a website. I've tried resetting the cache before. When I loopback, it works. But not using my ruoter's ip.

:(
If internal [loopback], how about by your LAN?
Have you try using your LAn to connect ....
If you have your Abyss on 192.168.100, do you have another PC on 192.168.101 with it IE browser and see if will connect? :?:

Also check on your PC with Abyss if you have anything install like Firewall, Spam PopUp or even Anti-Virus..... etc..... Oh... do you have a Proxy? :?: 8O

For Proxy - http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/p/proxy_server.html
The above link will better explain than I will.

Anyway, have you try from my previous post :?: I am running out of idea here...... I is very hard to trouble-shoot or dianostic something if it not infront of me! 8O :D

From your last message, my guess, would be something is blocking. I do know if it block outbound or inbound but except internally. Of course it does not block it self...... Humm..... Anyway, try using another PC and see if it connect OK.

On most routers, you cannot type in the internet address of a website you host inside that network from another computer also within that network, *especially* if you are browsing from the same computer hosting the website. It will simply time out, making you think the site is not even there. Try it from another computer, preferably outside your home network. I suspect this is the source of many of the routing problems people on this forum have...

So true.... but you using your Domain .... www.mydomain.com .... it will redirect back to your PC. In the log, it will show 192.168.1.1 instead of the public IP. The log will also show the same thing if you use any of PC in the LAN. But if you use LAN IP [101] to your Abyss [100], the log will show the correct LAN IP 192.168.101.

The problem right now is if that PC [100] is either being block inbound or outbout and or both. :D

Sorry MAN :!: :?: I can not get your page(s). But I do can ping that IP though. Assume that still your IP. If your LAN is working then it can be inbound from the outside. Make sure your Norton or whatever you may have is disable and try change the port of your Abyss and the router to the same port. Hopefully your ISP did not block any of your port. Forward back to your Abyss port. If you have a Domain name, try setting your domain to redirect back to the current public IP your LAN is using. :D
