On my site, http://hiddenms.ath.cx/ which I used Abyss for, and for the coverup I used http://www.dyndns.com/ to cover up, when I click a link that takes me to the registration page, the address bar stays at hiddenms.ath.cx and doesnt change to hiddenms.ath.cx/register.php Anyone know how to fix this? My site without the coverup is 24.118.155.138:8080 And btw this works for other cover up sites too. Thanks |

I could be wrong, but you should use port 80 to do webhosting, this may be your option.
If the page does move, but the URL bar says the same thing, you may have "masking" (?) enabled on your DNS site.
Check those first. _________________ Audit the secure configuration of your server headers! |

But I want it to mask my url, if its set not to mask, it just redirects it to my site then shows my ip, Il try changing the port and tell you what happens. Thanks for the reply BTW
EDIT:
When I change the port to 80 in the general configuration menu, it gives me a listening error
-- Default host on port 80 has a listening problem (Local URL http://127.0.0.1)
Console local URL: http://127.0.0.1:9999 |

Other programs may try to use port 80. Do you have Skype or MySpace IM? _________________ -Blake | New Server :D

Ok yea I got it working good, Is there a way that I could set it so Abyss overrides another program if its open? I know opening abyss then Skype works fine, but Skype then abyss = error. Thanks again! |

No, you can't override it. You'll have to do that manually. If you use Abyss often, I suggest you change the ports of the other applications if possible. Or, manually do it each time. _________________ Audit the secure configuration of your server headers! |

There is an option in skype called "use port 80 and 443 as alternative ports" in skype, turn it off and restart skype. Abyss won't conflict with it then. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Thanks Underground, The site worked perfectly for me until I sent the link to someone else. The site now only works for me when its on port 80. Ive closed anything that could interfere but nothing worked. Hope somebody knows how to fix this. |

Of course, you'll have to edit your port forwarding settings to point to port 80 now :-) _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

I will PM you with my personal address.
You might have to allow Abyss in your firewall and sometimes modems have port forwarding solutions built into them. I will discuss it on MSN anyhow. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)
