ok, here's the issue. I use abyss to serve files. When a user clicks on a link to download there's roughly a 10-30 sec. delay until the download pop up box appears. There's also the same delay when i enter the Abyss Web server console, I notice that the console pages take some time to load (i.e. icons download last). The transferring data 127.0.0.1 indicator at the bottom left of the page indicates a very slow load.
All of this started happing today and there are no unusual number of users connected to the site. I didnt even make any changes to the server before this started happening. Im certain it's not a bandwidth issue (im on a 15Mb download & 15Mbps upload connection) and this prob happens when only 1-2 users connected.
Any Ideas??

Would have beenn nice if i gave a bit more detail, Huh? LOL
yeah, running XP with about 700Mb ram and 1.5 gig processor.
It's been running great for the past 2 weeks with even more people downloading from it at one time. I reinstalled it and that seem to fix it. |

Hey madman71,
It will also help a little if you disable any unnecessary programs running in the background. ;0 |

That's the thing, it's a fresh install of XP with hardly any additional applications running. Im just glad the fresh install of Abyss seems to work. |
