Can this be done with some form of routing?

I'm not sure if this is possible, but here goes.

My current system:
1 Broadband internet connection, with a static single IP address
1 PC running Abyss X2 with currently 4 sites and FTP Server
1 Server running Microsoft Windows Home Server
1 IP addressable Camera server
1 D-Link Router

My problem:
The router forwards port 80 to Abyss/FTP PC
The router forwards port 21 to Abyss/FTP PC
The router forwards port 443 to WHS
The router forwards port 8080 to Video Server

WHS really needs port 80 forwarding to it as well. And I would like to add a Mail Server to one of the PCs, or a new PC.

Is there a way of forwarding to the correct PC based on required domain?
i.e. www.XYZ.co.uk forwarded to Abyss
UVW.homeserver.com forwarded to WHS

If I add a mail server one of the things I will need is web mail. This would need port 443, but this is already forwarded to WHS and it would be nice to add HTTPS abilities to Abyss sites.

Somebody has suggested a 'Reverse Proxy' system. Is this correct? Is there another way? Or am I asking the impossible and I need to get an ISP that will provide me a range of IP addresses?

Any guidance would be gratefully received.

Thanks Simon

dancingbear,

A reverse proxy is what you need. It will decode the addresses (the Host header value) and get the page from the appropriate server.

Note that this may not work for HTTPS unless you have a wild card certificate as virtual hosting is not possible using SSL.

Thanks for the advise. Is there any particular system you would recommend?

All depends on how much traffic you are going to use the reverse proxy for. If you're gettig small traffic, you could use a simple RP script.

For large ones, a dedicated RP would be preferred. We will implement one in the next version of Abyss Web Server. Squid is also a highly recommended alternative ( http://www.squid-cache.org/ ).
