.

A friend sent this script package to me so I thought I
would share it with the Abyss Server Community.
it's complete and very well documented.

Abyss Server with PHP installed and enabled
is required to run this script, however, it will run
on just about any PHP enabled server (ie: Apache)

This is a "drop into the root directory and it's running"
script, very simple... and offers a nice alternative to
Abyss's default directory listing.

If you are moderately experienced you can even edit the
code to suit your set up...ie: colors and CSS,
otherwise, just drop it in and go..
the default appearance looks good as well.

To use this, simply download the script folder
Download snif v1.5.2 (ZIP, 30 KB)
unzip it with any file de-compression utility
and place the included "index.php" into your Abyss
root directory.
then, open that in a browser..
example:
http://your-abyss.server.com/index.php

This script was developed by Kai Blankenhorn
and the home site for it is:
http://www.bitfolge.de/snif

you can get it directly from the author's
site (above) if you prefer as well.

Enjoy..

I just found this same script a few weeks ago. It is really nice. I use it for a pictures folder. The main highlight for this feature is that it saves the thumbnails, so it doesn't need to re-generate them every time.

This is a very nice, simple, ready to go php script. I tried my hand at making something similar, but never worked right (my php skills are lacking). Then I came across this. Although you can use this script "as is" with no further configuration, you can customize it also if you know any css or html coding. If you edit the script, down at the very bottom you will find the html and css code for the layout and color scheme. You can change this somewhat to match your site, like I did. I know a lot of folks know this, but there are a lot out there that don't.

If I have time this week, I might be able to convert it to Abyss's Directory Listing and put it on my site for download. ;-)

P.S. I also seen that script. Weird huh?
