Leaving it on wouldnt affect you moving files. My server does HTTP, FTP, MySQL, PHP, Mail Server, Print Server and File Server tasks all in one at the same time, and it doesnt suffer at all, usually under 10% cpu. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Ah, fair enough. DVD burning uses 100% cpu most of the time. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

You should optimize your images, 40 KB and up is a little big. Use this progam:
http://www.xat.com/io/index.html
Note: In order to avoid the watermarks on your optimized images, you should
use the Standard version after you install it. |

No need to shut the server down for this. My server runs defrag daily via a scheduled task. Do this and it takes just a few minutes at a time.
Save as something.bat (note: saving as defrag.bat will make it fail to work)
Code: | @echo off
defrag c: |
Set the file as a scheduled task to run at off-peak times. Mine runs at 1am. I also have a program to change its cpu priority to lowest. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)
