Why can i see my website!
There is absoulutley no reason at all that it shoudnt work!
Its been working for about a month and now when i turned my computer back on it doesnt work!
Its really really annoying!
Port 80 has been forward.
Servers pointing to port 80 and the directorys pointing to the correct place.

Is it something to do with my i.p address?
I can access the server console via 'localhost'

Its just completley uncalled for :?

Calm down, buddy. It's probably something simple.
Did you check to see if your internal IP was changed?

BTW - this belongs in Networking Issues...moving...

Is the server even running then? That suggests its not.

Well, has your local IP changed?...Does the server have the same IP as you specified for port forwarding? If not, simply change the IP to forward port 80 to.

If you are trying to access your site through the internet with a domain name or something, check your external IP and domain settings.

Yeah, look at them and see if they're different from the last time you looked. Other than that, no.

As Andy said, you look at them.

The main thing to check is...
When you look in your router's port forwarding settings, make sure the IP of the port
being forwarded is the same as the local IP of the pc that the server is on.

Your domain is going to your correct IP, so check your router's port forwarding.

If it turns out to be a bad port forward due to an IP change you might consider doing this:

Ive done that before, and its nothing to do with that. When i starr Abyss it says:
Quote:
Abyss Web Server X1 (v 2.4)
Copyright © Aprelium Technologies - 2001-2007

Cannot listen to the console port

With the console port being 80.

When i go to console then settings in the port number its 9999, ive never used that port in my life :?
When i change it to 80, restart the server, go back to settings and the port number has gone back to 9999.

Im completely confused :S

The console port is the port you use to access the abyss configuration. 9999 is the default. Port 80 is the one you use for people to access your site. Somehow you don't understand how it works.

Sorry.
When i go to the console page, it says port 80 has a listening error asif something else is using port 80. The only other things that use ports on my computer are Filezilla Server & Filezilla FTP.

Something else is definitely using port 80. Do you run Skype? This can take port 80 for itself too.

Also check localhost 127.0.0.1 incase some other copy of Abyss is running.

Yes since the CP should run on 9999 not 80. The websites run on 80 and the console on 9999. Thats why you're having a problem.

I always say if in doubt, go back to defaults and try again.

Ive stopped the other Abyss and im still getting a listening error. I asume that this means something else is using port 80. Is there a programme etc that will tell me what programme is using which port?

Google for a port scanner program. That should tell you.
