You dont need a domain name you can use your ip address and you need you need to forward port 80 for it to work i think. There is loads of tutorials and topics about setting it up on this site. I only joined yesterday andI have mine setup now thanks to the help i got here. |

You can use just your IP address and as long as you forward the ports people will be able to view your site as long as they enter that in the address bar.
But if you have a dynamic ip i would use a free DNS provider, and you will then get a free domain name like #####.dyndns.org and that will also point to your IP. _________________ My online Portfolio |

Once you buy the domain name simply point it to your IP using an A record or if you have a dyndns or no-ip name, use that and use a CNAME. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

The domain name is not required. Depending on what kind of access you want to make (local, remote) and if you have an IP or a domain name, you'll need to use a different URL.
