Hi, all. I am having problems setting up other host names in abyss. I have set up 3 as follows

domain1.com port 80, root path = htdocs
domain2.com port 80, root path = htdocs/html
donaim3.com port 80, root path = htdocs/html/folder

I havent specified a host name in abyss, justy the info above.
I have redirected my domains 1, 2 and 3 to my IP address.

I have tried changing ports to 80, 81 and 82 respectfully but everytime i use domains 1, 2 and 3 the same page opens. The page is htdocs/html/folder.

Can anyone advise.

Thanks. Any sugestions.

Are you associating the A record of the domain names with your IP? Or are you using web redirection to associate the domain name with your IP?

If it is web redirection, it won't work and it will cause the behavior your describe: virtual hosting requires that you put your IP in the A record of the DNS settings of your domain.

IN my control donaim panel i have set up:

1) Web Forewarding to my IP Address.

2) In the DNS A records, I have associated with My IP address.

Hope that helps

svankamon,

We suggest that you send your abyss.conf file to our priority technical support. Please do not forget to let us know which domain name is the one managed by your own DNS server.

svankamon,

We've received your configuration file by email. We reviewed it and found that you have three hosts, all of them are using port 80 and no one has a host name.

So with such a configuration, Abyss Web Server will have no way to determine which host to use when it receives a request for any of your domain names. In such a case, it will serve from the first host (as all of them match).

The solution is to associate at least 2 of your hosts with distinctive domain names as explained in <http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/articles/x2-hosts.html>.
