Ok. I have a server going, it says its running. I have a html file, and i have changed the port many times, tried about 20 of them. Everytime I get Page cannot be displayed, and the title of the page is "invaluid Systax error"
I am behind a router, but I have DMZ going. I also have this problem with another machine with no router, just hub and own ip addy. Why do i get this error?
I am using window xp, and i would hope its not something with that.
Please help

thank you

Invalid Syntax Error is not a message Abyss Web Server can produce. So investigate the other networking software/hardware you're using for that.
If you're asking for a script page, the script (or its interprter) may be generating that error.

this is not uncommon but an invalid syntax error is usally caused by adding a port to the end of your address but without prefixing it with http://www.

First you have to make sure you can access your address with a www. Believe it or not some domains do not and will not work with a www. Their is usally an option to turn on wildcards, etc...

You just have to remember, you cannot enter a port and not prefix the address without a http://www. otherwise you'll get back an invaild syntax error.
