It is possible to host a webserver with a 56k dial-up internet connection?
If yes...how could this be possible?
I need to do something more than just configure abyss? like port forwarding?
Im asking this cuz no one(other than me) is able to access my webserver...

Thanks for any help...

Yes, it is possible but I wouldn't recommend it. A 56 K connection is a maximum of 7 KB/s download speed. However, you can use Abyss Web Server for local testing.

7KB/s max but the real speed will be more like 4-5KB/s when you include overheads.

Wagasala,

Yes it is possible to host a web server on any type of connection. But it must be on all the time if you want to have people access it 24/7. The connection speed must also be proportional to the content you have: so a 56Kbit/s connection is not to be recommended for a site with lots of images and downloads. But it could be enough for a simple site with little or no graphics and a modest audience.

You should also configure a DNS name using No-IP or a similar service since your IP will be dynamic. No port forwarding is necessary since a 56Kbit/s modem is directly plugged in the computer (and there is no router). You'll still need to configure your firewall to allow incoming access to Abyss Web Server.
