You would have to write your own script to make it possible. There is not really any need for such a function, no other web server has it. In case you need to track whoever has downloaded something, just use the log file.

Hmm im not sure that theres no need of such a fuction, i know is not a file sharing soft, but i dont want to track the people whos loading my site theres too much info in the log file and its a bit hard to count how many times "exams.rar" are been hited
Im not much in the scripting but it would be nice for litle guide, i googled last night for such script and didnt found anything with HITS
Thank you

A simple php directory listing script could be used and it could count the number of times it hits a file in a variable. I wouldn't know how to start coding this but it can be done.

Ru,

This is a costly feature that we won't implement as not everyone needs it. It requires that we use a database to track every file download. On a small site, it's manageable but on a large site (with thousands of files and tens of thousands of vistors), that's simply overkill.

If you want to track in realtime the download count of your files, you'll have to write a script that monitors their downloads and save that information in a database.

Ru, try http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/64885.html

Download Meter is a great script that serves 3 purposes. First, it counts how many times a file has been downloaded. Then, it tracks the location that the download request came from. Finally, it allows you to show a "Download Starting" page like you’d see on many popular download sites. The script is simple to install and easy to use.

I found it by googling php download hits script.
