I have started my website server and I can see it. I asked some friends to check it out and only 3 out of 6 of them could see my website. I then posted a poll on an other site and 0 out of 8 people could see it. I have the following ports opened: 80, 8080, 3724 and 3306. I configured my firewall for in/out traffic with abyss and allowed trafic from port 80.
The problem seems to be that the connection times out.
Please help me out with some suggestions!
Thanks in advance,
Painfull |

Doesn't work here. The fact some people see it and others don't suggest its an intermittant problem. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

I think I fixed it by enabling DMZ and other stuff.
Can anyone try it out and post if it works or not? |

Hello Painfull,
The problem could be that you haven't setup a static LAN IP. If you need help doing this, my msn/windows messenger is: msn@trustabyss.com |

Your welcome,
Turns out it was more than an IP problem. The problem was that his router wasn't connecting to the modem through PPPoE. We spent like three hours trying to fix it. In the end, he reset his router and tried connecting again through PPPoE. Success! I was able to help him setup the static LAN IP and ports, and his server is now online.
Hope you're enjoying Abyss Web Server, painfull. It was a pleasure to be able to help you solve this problem.
Sincerely, Josh (TRUSTAbyss) |
