Hi, it's been quite a while since I poked my nose in, I know ... a friend of mine has a question: Would he be able to run torrentflux http://www.torrentflux.com under Abyss on a Linux box? He just found an old box at a garage sale he wants to convert to a webserver. It's got

RAM: 64 MB - speed unknown
Floppy port: Check
IDE: 2,5 IDE
Com ports
Network: 3 Fast Ethernet ports
and has been used as a hardware firewall. I've no idea how big the harddrive is - he's in Sweden.

Torrentflux is an idependant system (no web server needed it runs on its own)

With these specs, if he plans to get a decent number of hits, i dont think it will be worth it, the lag will be huge

Thanks, but the sysreq seems to indicate it needs server software. Secondarily the purpose he wants to put it to is as a torrent server, I am pretty sure, not an HTTP server ... that processor is significantly faster than the one I run my website from, a Pentium MMX 233.

I think that it might lag a bit but manily depends on how many users he is planning on hosting. It should work for very few users at a time.
