Hi, it's been quite a while since I poked my nose in, I know ... a friend of mine has a question: Would he be able to run torrentflux http://www.torrentflux.com under Abyss on a Linux box? He just found an old box at a garage sale he wants to convert to a webserver. It's got Quote: | CPU: VIA something @450 Mhz - x86
RAM: 64 MB - speed unknown
Floppy port: Check
IDE: 2,5 IDE
Com ports
Network: 3 Fast Ethernet ports
| and has been used as a hardware firewall. I've no idea how big the harddrive is - he's in Sweden. _________________ Red Lion

Torrentflux is an idependant system (no web server needed it runs on its own)

With these specs, if he plans to get a decent number of hits, i dont think it will be worth it, the lag will be huge _________________ Where have i been? School got heck-tick, had to move half way around the state, then back... and then i had to change jobs, so iv been away for a while :P |

Thanks, but the sysreq seems to indicate it needs server software. Secondarily the purpose he wants to put it to is as a torrent server, I am pretty sure, not an HTTP server ... that processor is significantly faster than the one I run my website from, a Pentium MMX 233. _________________ Red Lion

I think that it might lag a bit but manily depends on how many users he is planning on hosting. It should work for very few users at a time. _________________
