K , i honestly dont kno where this should go but i am having trouble with both of these files. i have followed all tutorial.. even trustabyss for phpbb-- no offense but i like his a little better. but whenever i log on as the admin adn go 2 the admin panel, it will not display... i think it mite be due to the domain. the only computer i can log on into the admin is the localhost(webserver) itself. is there any reason to this....
--- Also whenver i tried phpNuke 7.9, i could not get it 2 work either. i made an aliases with it in the config file... but it would never load the page. yes globals are on... and i have php 5.2 the preconfigured package. duz anyone kno why phpNuke wont work?
also which one should i use... phpNuke or phpbb2
Thanks,

The reason is that you have used localhost as the hostname, meaning everyone trying to connect will try to use localhost/login.php or whatever and obviously it only exists on the server itself. You need to use, if you have one, your static internet IP in that box. If you don't have one then you will need to get yourself a no-ip domain and use that in the box instead. Its a common problem which I should address in my tutorial. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Like I have stated above, it loads the page based on the domain/ip you put into that box. If it is not correct it will not load. Its like trying to go to www.gogle.com instead of www.google.com, it just doesnt work. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

For now put in your static IP, afterwards you can change it to your domain. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Use mysql 4 for all current nuke versions. PHP 5 does work or rather it has some minor problems but notting to stop the sites functions.
EDIT: Just uninstall mysql5 and install mysql4 you won't lose your database files. _________________ www.web-bin.com | www.skydigitalcards.com |

Well two things, 1, its not going to work properly on mysql 5 and the second thing would be did you configure the config.php file correctly ?
$dbhost = "localhost"; and not your ip
What version of nuke are you installing and where on your directory _________________ www.web-bin.com | www.skydigitalcards.com |

I'm kinda new to phpnuke, but when i was trying to install it it gave me this on the first step of installtion...
Code: | Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in C:\Abyss Web Server\htdocs\test-phpnuke\install\install2.php on line 140 |
What can i do to fix that. I did put localhost name in there and tried that gave me the error, then i tried to put the domain name in there gave me a incorrect password and username. Any help? _________________ Site Administrator of Nucca The Warrior's Website

nevermind, i fixed the problem, basically increasing the execution time in the php.ini file. _________________ Site Administrator of Nucca The Warrior's Website
