Some of you may want to read this:

PHP-Nuke is spreading over the Internet as a popular CMS system. If you have
a PHP-Nuke installation which has been hacked into, read on to find out how
to regain control of your site. If your site hasn't been hacked, read on to

By turning notices off you are not fixing the problem? Just ignoring it?! are you not?

This would seem not to be a problem with version 2 of abyss as it no longer shows the errors!

True, but then again, notices aren't problems... they're just notices.

It all has to do with PHP, not Abyss. Chances are your PHP version has notices off by default.

Message to white_tiger If u go little upwards there was a solution by apreliumTo eliminate Notices displaying (which is by the way what most PHP coders do since a notice is less important than a warning). To do so, open php.ini and locate the line starting by error_reporting=, then change it to:
Code:
error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE
I think it helps u .

On my PC Abyss working great. I have php, phpMyAdmin,MySQL and phpNuke working . trying to install other things. Thanks to aprelium for a unbeatable product.

Hi I have installed all the stuff, and for some reasons I have errors.

I use this link to go in to PhPNuke:http://127.0.0.1/phpnuke/html/, that is the only way I can activate PhPNuke.

But when I use this link:http://127.0.0.1/phpnuke, I can see all my maps there. Is that normal.

And when I activate PhPNuke with this link:http://127.0.0.1/phpnuke/html/.

I get the messagte that I actvaite it right, and want to make a super administrator. When I do that, and log in, with mine Username and Password nothing happend.

I all so get every time this error:

Notice: ob_end_clean(): failed to delete buffer. No buffer to delete. in c:\program files\easyphp1-8\www\phpnuke\html\mainfile.php on line 43

Notice: import_request_variables(): No prefix specified - possible security hazard in c:\program files\easyphp1-8\www\phpnuke\html\mainfile.php on line 64

Notice: Undefined variable: aid in c:\program files\easyphp1-8\www\phpnuke\html\admin.php on line 16

And when I want to login in normal I get this error: a white screen and this:

Notice: ob_end_clean(): failed to delete buffer. No buffer to delete. in c:\program files\easyphp1-8\www\phpnuke\html\mainfile.php on line 43

Notice: import_request_variables(): No prefix specified - possible security hazard in c:\program files\easyphp1-8\www\phpnuke\html\mainfile.php on line 64

Any body know what I am doing wrong

Ash,

Please read the message just above yours. It explains you how to find information about disabling these notices.

I can login myself and the display box will say Welcome blah blah but it wont show me as member

Please if someone could login and see what iam try to explain

Username : test

Theres a few other problems which I think are related to php-db connection type of thing, well you guys know best, basically i can change and move modules around on the site, but for example I cant edit Block names.

Iam kinda familar with phpnuke, and i help out on nukemods.com but this has me puzziled

Marty_,

Have you configured PhpNuke with the correct database name/user name/password? Can you check again its setup steps?

Ok iam getting no where with this,

I have installed a fresh copy of phpnuke with both a fresh copy of the latest mysql and php and phpmyadmin

Anyway for now I cant even create a new Super Admin account notting from my site is been written into my database, yet my database is connected to my site.(before i had imported an older sql file which gave me some access)

I would really like to get this sorted out, I have many sites hosted all over the net with various hosts, Abyss seems to be a good option, but I cant get it working 100%. If anyone has any suggestions please reply.

Thanks in advance
Marty

Abyss Web Server is not in cause here. Your problem is caused by your PHP and/or PhpNuke setup and the web server has no effect on them.

Your php.ini looks correct. Have you correctly setup PhpNuke file permissions and have you popluated the MySQL database correctly (as explained in http://phpnuke.org/modules.php?name=PHP-Nuke_HOWTO&page=database-creation.html )?

No file permissions are required if hosted on a windows system.

You wouldnt see the site if the database wasnt connecting you would get page stating that.

Iam not blaming abyss, but if I cant get around this, it would mean to me that I load a new OP system on my machine, something I dont want to have to do.

EDIT : its funny cause things like the Shout_Box are connecting to DB so iam convinced something is wrong with either phpMyAdmin or my php.ini file ?

Final question on this, is there anybody here using abyss x2 on windows xp hosting a phpnuke site ?
http://badhq.ie/test.php : maybe somethings wrong ?

Marty_,

Have you tried using PHP 4 instead of PHP 5? Some scripts pretend they support PHP 5 but they actually do not.

Yep that was it, you would think a modern version phpnuke, would run with the lastest PHP releases anyway great all up and running.

http://badhq.com and something I didnt find mentioned on the site, dont forget to load a www. site or abyss wont find the URL

Iam now setting up and transfer my Perl site http://web-bin.com hope to see Abyss listed somewhere :)

Thanks again for your patience

Your welcome. We've noticed that many popular PHP scripts still have problems with PHP 5 hence our suggestion.

and it worked perfectly

iBluff,

The error message says at the end:

MySQL said: Documentation
#1050 - Table 'nuke_antiflood' already exists

This means that PhpNuke is trying to install some tables into your database and that these tables are already there (probably from a previous failed setup). So remove these tables (using PhpMyAdmin or any MySQL administration tool) and restart setting up PhpNuke.
