Hey guys

It's not often that you hit that moment when you think your website is finally complete, but I think I am there (at least for the moment) with my site.

Please visit http://viahome.co.uk and let me know your thoughts.

There is link for my 'thanks' and a number of you are mentioned, mainly I wanted to say thank you for all the help I have had from this site in setting up my LED display, there is a real short video of the sign in action for those that are interested.

Feedback welcome, the site is run from an old pc in my lounge using NTL as my ISP

Cheers
Paul K

Not sure how to take that, but thanks!

Someone is trying to access '&' commands and do bad things to my site (looks at cmxflash as a matter of habbit), but the site is safe.

I would be interested to know if you can see the video from the LED Project link, as I suspect that it works locally but somehow prob has the wrong codec for the rest of the world.

This being the case, help with videos most welcome!

Urgh, I have just discovered that my lovely paragraph formatting does not look so good in firefox as it does in IE.
Anyone have any tips on fixing browser formatting issues?
edit: checking in firefox and opera they show the same bad formatting, damn IE!!

On adding &nbsp at my paragraph ends it kind looks better, but takes up an extra line space per paragraph, thus not making the page fit within one screen legth without scoll bars - I'm lost

Cheers
Paul

(Just when you think you are done)

EDIT: FIXED! I shrung the graphics to make the paragraphs fit better

Paul;

If you're coding the html / or whatever by hand, pay very close attention to how you set up your <table>'s

If you're using cellspacing and cellpadding make sure all the numbers add up. <Table width=800> the cellspacing and padding are deducted from the <td> cells -- pictures that are larger than the table cell will distort your lovely paragraph formatting.

Using CSS helps too... Defines the size of the text and is interpretted approx. 99% of the time in old and new browsers.

Older browsers are more picky about table conventions, the newer browsers tend to fillin the missing blanks if not defined properly.

Thanks for the tips, CSS is used extensively throughout. the problem was who floating images interact with text - in particular when they dont flow beyond the image.

Like I say I got it sorted, but it threw mw for a while.
