I have python installed already, but i'm not sure if i really need one for window applications and one for web, because i just tried the one i had already installed and it works just as good as the one distrubted by activestate..

Code:

print "Content-type:text/html\n\n"
print "Hello, World!"

I have Python Pre-Installed with my "HP Pavillion" PC and I used it before. It's
all the same. You can use a second if you want, but I don't recommend deleting
the old one you already have. I use the one that came with my PC.

after a few minutes of googling i found a some answers..

http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-list/2005-December/315754.html
http://www.velocityreviews.com/forums/t352501-difference-between-activepython-and-pythonorg.html

i'll keep both around as it seems like activestate is an all in one package, and i had the other one for a while now.

thanks.

HotelRoom2,

We recommend ActivePython in http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/python.html because it is a one-click setup package. But if you have another version already installed (or are a knowledgeable Python user and have installed your own version with your own libraries), this will not make any difference. Just point Abyss Web Server to the python.exe you have, and it will work fine with it.
