Ok Im trying to install these too for AE Dating. I got ae pointed right at the imagemagick folder and also tried going right to the exe file. But the security image isnt showing up so obviously something aint right. Please help!

Im setting up the cong file as c:/ImageMagick/
and C:/Sox/

As linked it directly to exe file. Does it have to be configured within Abyss? Like with php and the likes?

Yes I think the exe has to be added. Try just linking to the EXE first then try adding it to the CGI interpreters.

ozzy214,

Does this script need ImageMagick executable or ImageMagick libraries? Could you post an URL of the script documentation/download?

I have a related issue...I am using the E107 system and it says I can use Image magic instead of GD2 but everytime I point it to the exe it does'nt work it says something like cannot find it....I know I have the right path to it...could this be something that I need to set up through Abyss... such as adding it to the cgi interpreters...and how would I do that? sorry to steal this thread but it is related....

northwst,

How are you declaring the path of the executable in E107 files? Could you post here the lines where such a declaration/configuration occurs?

I hope I understand your problem.

You have your own server?

In php.ini set "safe_mode" to "off".

ImageMagick will not work with "safe_mode= on".

Put a copy of the "cmd.exe" (c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe) in your php directory. (c:\php4 or c:\php5).

Now ImageMagick will work under Windows with php.

Thank you for the responses...

Yes Markusl I have Safe mode turned off and there is a copy of cmd.exe under system32 and it still does'nt work.... wow what a Dummy...I reread your post I put a copy under c:\PHP and it seems to work..have not tried gif's yet but it is working...I think... sorry...

as far as declaring the path all it wants is this....

sorry for how big it is....

it says to put the complete path to the convert.exe which is c:\programfiles\ImageMagick-6.2.6-Q16\convert.exe

it does however sometimes add slashes to the path like this c:\\programfiles\\ImageMagick-6.2.6-Q16\\convert.exe
and every subsequent time I save the configuration it adds another...
so I think it could be a problem with e107...or I am missing something to change in the php itself.
unless you guys have more insight into the issue...

Thank you,

Under "Resize method" select ImageMagick.

Try also:

c:/programfiles/ImageMagick-6.2.6-Q16/convert.exe

or: c:\programfiles\ImageMagick-6.2.6-Q16\

: c:\programfiles\ImageMagick-6.2.6-Q16

: c:/programfiles/ImageMagick-6.2.6-Q16/

and so on.

Look also in your database, if the path to ImageMagick is correct after the settings.

What else did you have to do? I have followed the directions about putting in the cmd.exe file in the php folder and no good. I know I got the link set up right in the configure file. IS there something that needs to be set up with the php.ini file or somethign else?

As Aprelium said..... I am not familiar with ae, sox. E107 has an admin section for image handling all I had to do was put the path to the executable in it and make sure I had a copy of cmd.exe in the php directory. also I made sure "safe_mode = Off" in the php.ini file. sorry I cant help more.

I FIGURED out the problem. Maybe someone can help me figure this out. If the directory where everythign resides isnt set correctly, then it wont work.

So what would be the correct setting for

C:/Abyss/Htdocs/test

Should it be fwd or backward slashes. Double? I figured out putting just convert, mogrify, and composite will call the exe files correctly. But its really document root thats screwing it up.

$dir['root'] = "C:\Abyss\htdocs\test/";

I cant figure out the exact sequence for this line....

ozzy214,

Between " and " (in a PHP string), backslashes must be doubled:

"C:\Abyss\htdocs\test/" could cause some trouble to PHP so use "C:\\Abyss\\htdocs\\test\\" instead.
