|
|
I have a WRT54GS linksys router and cannot reach the control panel. I try going to http://192.168.1.1/ - doesn't work. Same with localhost. Why can't I get to it?
BTW... Instead of using the install CD, I used NetSet, which proved to be much easier to use. So, maybe that's the problem. But it won't work when I try using the CD.
And if you're wondering, I just reformatted my PC, so that's why I'm asking basically the same question again. |

derangedtaco,
What do you get when you execute the following command from a Windows commande line (Start > Run > then type cmd and hit return).

Sounds like maybe NetSet didn't prove easier to use after all ;) You've probably set yourself an IP which is in the wrong range to the router, or set an incorrect gateway address etc.
What is the output of "ipconfig /all" at the command prompt? _________________

You'll be wanting http://192.168.2.1 for your router control panel then :)
Btw, if you need to paste anything from a command prompt in future, you can copy and paste instead of typing it out - just right click, choose Mark, select the area, then hit Enter and Ctrl-V it into where ever you need to paste it. _________________
